Firstly, in a aspect of the attitude to ghosts, I would like to celebrate Halloween with my kids. Halloween is a festival about ghosts. But some kids don’t like it because they are too scared. In fact, ghosts are not real. They are just imagination of people. Therefore, I'd like to let my kids to celebrate it, in order to let them understand that ghosts are not real and scary.
Secondly, In a cultural aspect, Through the celebration of Halloween, the traditions, i.e. trick or treat, can reflect the basic meaning of the festival. Children can celebrate it happily. If we have kids, celebrating Halloween can let them learn more about it.
Thirdly, About the meaning of it, different people have different view points. Some say (Especially Chinese) we should be scare of this festival because the myth said that they would go out and scare the people. IN the western place, the said we would celebrate it, i.e. “trick or treat”, wear the funny/strange clothing, though they firstly wore them for scaring the “ghost”. There are some different between two places, but we still think we should follow the western-don’t be afraid of the ghost.

回覆刪除If I have kids,I will also celebrate Halloween with them. Since the family has more time to spend together and relax, the unity of the family can be promoted. Kids may have good memories about the celebration, thus they will grow up happier.
On the other hand, I will encourage the kids to learn more about the traditional Chinese culture by telling them about the meanings and facts of Chinese Ghost Festival.
I prefer to let the kids celebrating Halloween.
If I have kids, I will celebrate Halloween with them. It's because I want them to understand what is "ghost". There are too many unreal stories of ghosts. I want them to know that ghosts are just imagination of people and we should not afraid and believe them.

回覆刪除In my own opinion, I don’t totally agree this.
Chinese Ghost festival is not popular and interesting and Western Ghost Festival is very popular and people love celebrates it. It doesn’t mean that Western Ghost Festival is totally better than the Chinese Ghost Festival.
First, although Chinese Festival is not fun, it has a lot of traditional meaning and culture in it. Also, there is a lot of Chinese knowledge in it. To be a Chinese, we should know our own culture.
Also, Western Ghost Festival can help the people in the city to relax. This is a good way. So, I think that two of the Festival can celebrate together and this is both win.
In my opinion, if I have kids, I will celebrate Halloween with them. It is because I want to let them know that "ghosts" are not real and they dont need to afraid of them. Also, they can have a chance to decorate the flat and learn to hold a party by themselves so they will have a good memory for Halloween.
